Top Shelf® Expanded Shale

How To Use
- To break up heavy clay or sandy soil till in a 3″ layer of Top Shelf® Expanded Shale along with 2″-3″ of Top Shelf® Compost to a depth of 6″-8.” Improving soil in this way will increase the flow of oxygen to the root system of your plants
- To use with potted plants mix 1/3 Top Shelf® Expanded Shale with 2/3 Top Shelf® Potting Soil
- To use with hydroponic systems add the desired amount of Top Shelf® Expanded Shale to allow oxygen to penetrate the plant’s root system. Top Shelf® Expanded Shale is very stable and rarely affects the pH of the nutrient solution
- To use as a biofilter in outdoor water gardens or koi ponds
